History of the Bank

Shiva Sahakari Bank Niyamitha was established on 1st January 1999 under the able leadership of Sri K. B. Gangadharappa. The Bank began its journey with a modest capital of ₹3 lakh, serving customers within a 10 km radius of Tarikere Town. Over time, with the trust and support of its valued members, the Bank expanded its area of operation to cover the entire Tarikere Taluk, except Ajjampura Hobli.

The initial years were challenging, as the Bank worked diligently to build a strong foundation in the competitive financial sector. Through perseverance and dedication, the Bank achieved its first major milestone by crossing ₹10 crore in deposits in the year 2011. The same year, the Bank embraced technology by implementing Core Banking Solutions (CBS), marking its entry into the digital banking era.

With continued growth and strong member support, the Bank decided to establish its own premises. In 2016, the Bank purchased a site for its new building, and within two years, operations were shifted to a modern and well-furnished building, which was inaugurated in 2018.

To enhance customer convenience, the Bank launched its own ATM facility in 2020, followed by the introduction of IMPS Branch Channel Services, further strengthening its digital presence.

Before celebrating its Silver Jubilee in July 2024, the Bank had already achieved several milestones and earned notable recognition. The Silver Jubilee Celebration was graced by the presence of Honorable Minister Sri H. K. Patil, adding prestige to the event.

Over the years, Shiva Sahakari Bank Niyamitha has been honored with the National-level Banko Blue Ribbon Award four times, along with several awards from the Co-operative Union, recognizing the Bank’s excellence and commitment to cooperative values.

At present, the Bank proudly offers a wide range of modern banking services including RTGS/NEFT, SMS Banking, ATM Services, and E-Stamp Facility — continuing its mission to serve the community with trust, technology, and transparency.
